I've used a local taxi company before called Neales taxi based in High Wycombe.
Can't remember the cost as my company pre-paid but the service was excellent. I was given the drivers mobile number to ring once I collected my bags and he directed me to the car. Google them and give them a ring for a price. |

Thanks for your comments.
I've got plenty of time to think about it before the flights become available in November, but its annoying that flights from Glasgow are more expensive than flying through London which is how I arrived at looking into this whole transfer thing. My back up plan is to drive to Manchester, but its a long drive with 2 hyper kids... |

I did the transfer coming home in October from LGW to LHR via the National Express and would try to avoid it again unless it was considerably cheaper than other methods. If more than 1 its probably easier and cheaper to get a taxi or something as the bus is £25 each.
Heading out we went via Miami which i thought was better than transfer even with out bags not making the connection in Heathrow (Most of the people traveling from Aberdeen bags did not make it) but we was soon reunited with out bags a few hours later from the next flight. I have also been looking at Easy Jet to get from Aberdeen to Gatwick for next time but not sure about trusting Easy Jet with my holiday when trying to make a connection and what would happen if the connection was missed with them being on a separate booking. |
