Sorry I can’t speak for auto Europe but I had the same worry when I booked with Virgin Atlantic. I had no trouble doing online check in and skip the line. Their price was amazing too, much cheaper than others I’d got

OP. Contrary to what the Alamo 'help desk' people will tell you it is easy to do OLCI and skip the counter with any 3rd party rental site for an Alamo car.
Virgin which is mentioned above is the easiest as they have negotiated a specific link that is quicker and more user friendly.

As per MrTM the key part is with either OLCI and Skip Counter whichever you do is the barcode on paperwork as this has info for person at exit barrier.
Both OLCI and Skip Counter barcodes are identical.
I don't bother to skip counter after OLCI others do no right or wrong.
Enjoy

I've previously had an Alamo car through Auto Europe and managed to do OLCI and STC no problem.
Just follow the process in Yorkshire Dan's sticky where you open a 2nd 'tab' during OLCI.

Having said that, and as others have also said, as long as you get a barcode on your OLCI paperwork, that will suffice.

The OLCI bit is easy, Auto Europe will give you an Alamo Ref. no. on your voucher, just go onto Alamo.com, enter you booking ref. and it will let you do OLCI.

Just a word of warning if you value your printer ink!

Do not print the skip the counter T & C's. It's 19 pages of dross

Plus it's all on their website anyhow and isn't needed.

Did you read all 19 pages Tom?!

That must have been a fun night in!

Ha ha. I accidentally printed it and went out the kitchen to make coffee not realising how much there was or I would have stopped it.
Being the frugal person I am I have it in the back of a folder ready to consult when needed!

We also got a great price with AutoEurope with Alamo for our September holiday.
We went straight across the road to the kiosk, showed the person our paperwork and we were told the line of cars we could pick from. Literally a few seconds from start to finish.
Chose our car and drove to the exit where we had to show driving licence and paperwork and we were out in about 2 minutes 😀

I have a very recent experience with OLCI & STC with Auto Europe, as I've done both 2 days ago

OCLI is done on the alamo.com website, no issue. But the confirmation email I received did not have a barcode on it.
(email with the title : Alamo Reservation Confirmation xxxxxxxxxx has been Checked-In)

There was also no link (in either email, or website) to Skip The Counter
so I opened a new tab and went to alamo/en_US/car-rent...in/bypass.html which is the Skip The Counter direct link
as mentionned, the OLCI page must still be open in another tab for the workaround to be successful

once STC information entered, I received the confirmation email with a barcode on it

so I don't know if it's something new, or a glitch, or specific to third party bookings, but OLCI confirmation email no longer includes a barcode ... at least as far as my very recent experience is concerned.
