Question Idrive transportation

Hey there guys, I've no experience whatsoever of staying on Idrive, however my folks will be staying at the Rosen Inn International for a weeks or so on our upcoming trip. I was just wondering if any of you can tell me what would be the best way for them to get to and from Disney Springs, the Florida Mall and the outlets from their hotel? I've no idea about the Iride trolley etc?

And, is it best for them to use an Uber to get to and from the Disney parks?

We'll be picking them up when we can but it'd be really good to know all the alternatives. All help and advice really greatly appreciated

If they are going to things on idrive (outlets or don't want to walk in the heat) they could use the i-ride trolley, there are stops on idrive - one just outside the rosen international for example.

If they are going further afield (disney/malls etc) then uber is the way to go if they aren't hiring a car

Taxi or
Lynx buses go to those areas you mention, check out the website for times and routes
I know for Disney springs you change at SeaWorld, the cost is $2 each just ask for a transfer ticket, took us about 30 minutes

Well, I suppose the "best" way would be to drive to these places.

However, assuming they won't have a car, then the best way would be for them to use Uber or a taxi.

The I-Ride Trolley bus (see the website here) only goes up and down International Drive and so they could use that to get to the Premium Outlet malls at either end of Intl Drive. We've done that numerous times. However, neither the Florida Mall nor Disney Springs are on, nor near, International Drive. So the I-Ride trolley bus doesn't go to these.

If they wanted to take a bus to the Florida Mall and/or Disney Springs then they would have to use a Lynx bus instead (website here). For Disney Springs they'd need to get a Lynx #8 bus from their hotel to near Seaworld and then swap to a Lynx #50 bus to Disney Springs. For Florida Mall, I think they could get a Lynx bus to near where Wet'n'Wild used to be and then swap to a different Lynx bus (it's been a few years and things have probably changed since I last did this).

There's a bit more info in the DIBB's Orlando Without a Car guidebook page here:

https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/Orl...-Car-p-85.html

Personally, I wouldn't recommend public buses for Disney Springs or Florida Mall.

Yes. If they don't have a car, then Uber would be their best bet (in fact, using an Uber will save on parking fees and is easier because they don't have to navigate).

In addition they can get reception at their hotel to order them a regular taxi (or there might be taxis waiting outside the hotel). This will work out more expensive than using an Uber though.

We stay every time on international drive at Rosen Inn,OH refuses to drive when on holiday.we use mainly ubber or irride to outlets.bus is doable to Disney parks and cheap but takes quite a while so tend to use ubber and for Florida mall.use I ride for outlets and up and down idrive.my parents in their 70always stay here as well and find transport easy.hope this helps

Perfect, thanks guys! We'll have a car and will pick them up/drop them off as much as we can until they move to our hotel, but as they're well into their 70's and have never driven abroad at all they definitely won't be having a car.
They've stayed at the Rosen Inn on a previous trip but it was only a short stay after a cruise and they really just hung around the pool and ate very locally so they have used the Iride which helps a bit but it's fab to know we have options in case we all want drinks at Disney Springs etc.
