I presume that’s staying in Disney property so actually booking at 60+ days? I’ve been trying to get FOP at exactly 60. Nearly had it once. So close!

We stayed offsite last October so didn't think we had any chance of a Fastpass for FOP I tried everyday from 30 days and was resigned to queueing.
Tried again about 10 days before we left and managed to get us a FP for about 9pm and just grabbed it then a couple of days later I managed to get more for earlier in the holiday so keep trying.

We still got to ride it my hubby queued for 120 and got parent swap because we have a 4yo... think he got the good end of the deal a bit of peace lol...
Sorry but of a tangent ...keep looking and pounce ...if there is one at 8pm take what you can get it was amazing.

Sorry, yeah, we're onsite.

I've got to say though, the website and the app are absolutely awful.

I say "at least" because i'm fairly sure it's actually 5 minutes before & 10 minutes after. But not 1,000% sure.
Definately 5 mins pre, I think it's 15 post.

Can I ask a general question here - if you are initially unsuccessful at 60 or 30 days at getting a FP that you want, but then nearer the time you manage to randomly find one, what happens when you go to book it if you already have FP in that tier? Does it ask you "do you want to replace ABC with XYZ" for eg, or do you have to go into the FP you want to cancel, cancel it, and then go back into the FP booking screen (which I imagine means you're at risk of losing that FP you've just found)?

Yeah as long as you ‘modify’ it asks of you wish to replace one attraction with the other. It’s all done in one step - you don’t have to cancel and start again. That’s assuming you’re talking about same tier attractions in the same park.

In order to "randomly find one" (i.e. see whether there's one available later on), you first have to modify an existing fastpass.

So, you modify an existing fastpass, look to see what's available, gasp as you see an available FOP fastpass, select the FOP fastpass, and then accept the change. This will then replace your previously selected tier 1 fastpass for the new FOP fastpass. If you don't accept the change then you'll keep your original tier 1 fastpass.

If you've already booked your fastpasses for that day and you don't modify an existing fastpass, then you can't look to see what's available.

you won't randomly find it, as you'll have to go into modify Na'vi river to be able to check its available, check and get in quick if it is.
if you look on touringplans by the time you go to modify they'll prob be gone.
tough one
