Magic Bands for offsite guests to be tested - start by end of January

There were a few hiccups when we used them last October, but nothing important.

A couple of places had trouble scanning them, we didn't get charging privileges due to staying largely off site...

But the benefits are there and worth the teething. Easy to grab a drink at the pool, no fumbling with bags at hotel doors, the Fastpass+ on your mobile is astounding.

I would't worry. Plus they come in such priddy colours

It was originally stated that you could re-use them. All would have to do is activate/assign tickets to them in MDE.

Any update? We are going this year (feels amazing to finally be able to say that as we booked nearly 3 years ago!)
We're travelling 8/9/14 for 14 nights staying offsite so I'm eager to know the charge.

Received a response (finally) from Disney Travel UK and have to say I am disappointed at the generic nature of it (especially as it took 3 days to reply) Here's the response:

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney Travel Co. UK.

"Currently My Disney Experience is under the beta testing requirements.
At the moment Magic Bands and My Disney Experience it is currently
limited to guests staying on Walt Disney World property. As the testing
continues to make way, exciting enhancements will be continuing into
2014 and 2015.

Should you have additional questions or require further assistance
please do not hesitate to reply"



Not only does it not confirm offsite guest testing it does not have a personal touch to it!

Disney must be getting loads of emails about the exact same thing hence your generic reply. They are not saying anything in advance to anyone about what is exactly going to happen.
