Same here, my FIL was the captain on the boat and I was the one who had to run round like a nutter when the bombs and bullets started. Fantastic memory, I'm really sad this will be closing as I've always loved this tour. Shame they can't update it rather than close it all together.

I miss the chair lift, although according to our guide on a KtK tour they were a health and safety nightmare!

It's selfish I know, but I really do feel worried that I've spent my inheritance on this holiday and there is so much construction and attractions closed at once. I'm sure this will look great once it's done, but I'm irrationally starting to think my children will be disappointed to travel 4000 miles to see construction walls. I desperately hope mike and sully are still available for meet and greet, DS is so excited to get this picture taken with the monsters

This same rumour about the Backlot Tour went around in July though as apparently there were no schedules from mid July so everyone assumed it must be closing!

Also, didn't it only have a refurb in Feb? Would you do a refurb if you were planning on closing it a few months later?

Just a thought!

Don't worry. You will have a wonderful time.

We saved for three years for our first trip in Dec 2010. The Fantasyland expansion was jist beginning, so some of MK was boarded up. Also, it was minus 2 degrees so the waterparks shut, and the Seaworld rides were closed! Didn't bother us at all, we had an amazing time.

We have spent four years saving for our second trip this November, and yes, we are prepared for the extensive works in DTD, the hub works in MK, the closure of Maelstrom, the beginnings of Avatarland in AK, and now changes in HS. And you know what? It won't take the shine off things one bit. I'll be in Disney baby yeahhh!

As long as I can walk down Main Street and have people bursting into song around me, then I'll be happy!

Just remembered this, we did it the day or the day after it reopened!
