I think as long as you dont care that you ride alone who cares if you know people in the queue.

Maybe that's why they do it but they do it in the full knowledge that they may well be split up. It's a load-balancing tool and without we'd all be waiting longer as the CMs try to get an optimal load in each car or send it round with empty spaces.

Of course that's why they do it (and I include me and my DH) in this) - isn't it why anyone joins the queue? As a single rider if the main queue was much shorter wouldn't you join it - and you wouldn't expect people to be complaining you had no right to be in this queue as you were alone!

I think maybe OP has misunderstood the purpose of the single rider queue. Of course it's to increase throughput and reduce empty seat numbers. Who is in those seats is irrelevant. It is not intended for those who happen to be the only one in their party who wants to ride!

yes, as single riders - so thats no different from someone who is in either queue solo in that respect.

We'll do this when DD's are old enough. Doesn't matter if we know each other, the point of the SL ride is surely to stop the ride going around with spare seats!

The only annoyance is those who try to insist on riding together.
In DLP in December DH and I joined the single rider queue for space mountain. The CM on the entrance advised that we would not ride together, the same was said by CM at top of steps then the one putting you on the vehicle. A couple of girls in front got people to swap around in the car in order for them to sit together... The CM saw and stopped e ride and moved them! I agree with that!

They are riding singly - so are single riders. We always use the single rider line for the Harry Potter rides, DD and I do the same at DLP for Ratatouille etc.

I am with the majority I do not see the problem with groups or couples doing single rider if they are happy to ride alone.

The couple who were insisting on riding together at EP  but made my day when they did get split up. He sat next to DH and myself with a face like thunder all the way around the photo proved it

Do single rider if you are happy to ride alone, next to a stranger or queue up with the rest of us!
