But arn't brightline doing the work, and they currently have works on their Miami section stage 2 around MCO airport, which is directly east of Sandlake road and they want to link MIA to TPA via MCO, so makes perfect sence to me that a Univarsal stop on Sandlake would be perfect. Be it in the new Universal area or just north where the current staion is. Yes Sandlake Rd, currently lightrail for comuter travel, but doesn't look light rail for the cargo trains which trundle down the line. Don't see why they would have a problem using or crossing it if needed to get nearer to the new parks.

Florida and USA in general do not have a good history with mass transportation and epically rail. If this ever happens it will be very different to original plans or be a result of an expensive court case.

WDW NEws today talked about this a few weeks ago stating it will probably never happen as both routes need considerable agreements and there are so many individuals affected that there were bound to be numerous expensive court cases which would drag on for years and probably end up with it being binned. They said that there was a poor record on agreeing transport links like this.

Read about universal

Universal’s been sponging off the public for years now, mostly through a special taxing district that’s provided millions in tax money to build roads and related projects that Universal wanted, including $4.5 million in 2013 for a pedestrian bridge to connect a new hotel with its theme parks.

I am sure Universal are looking for a stop near the original parks/Citywalk/hotels. The Sandlake station is 5 miles from MCO and 10 miles from Universal and pretty isolated. To me one near the Convention Center would make the most sense as a huge number of people must travel there from Miami (and Tampa).
