Our router is connected to the landline. There is probably a way round this nowadays but that’s the set up we have.

I’m moving to Fibre next week and they’ve assured me I don’t need a BT landline any more - I’d love to know if that is true!

We haven't had one for about 4 years. Before that we had one plugged in but never used it. We had cold callers all the time while my OH was working night shifts and trying to sleep, drove him mad.

Son and DIL 1 had to put a landline and use it in there new build mobile signal is abismal
DS 2 and DIL live in the middle of nowhere and use there all the time

We have one for broadband, there isn't cable around here, I also have family that always ring our landline. No landline no internet so it is essential for us.

We have talked about getting rid of Landline now both sets of Parents have passed ,all our family use mobile, don't need it for Broadband we are with Virgin .

Mobile signals are bad here with all networks so prefer the landline, only paying £2pm for anytime calls including mobiles so can't grumble.

We used to have one as it was required for the internet. Now you no longer need one to have the internet we got rid of it.
No point paying for something we used about 3 times a year! Our mobile signal is really good here too, I may have been more reluctant if it wasn’t reliable.
