Car hire requirements FL

Can anyone please advise what requirements are needed for hiring a car in FL.

As far as I am aware after reserach is:

Valid Drivers License (does this need to be photo?)
Insurance to cover any waivers etc

Apparently on documentation from a TA (to family) it states that they need an IDP. Having been a member on theDibb for a while, but never renting a car in FL (I have done in CA), I understand this is nonsense and they did try to implement several years ago but is no longer the case.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. If there is a link also stating that is not needed then will help as can prove this...

Assuming that you have a valid UK driving licence?

It can be the plastic photocard or the old paper licence. If you only have the latter you'll need to carry your passport with you at all times for ID purposes.

You absolutely don't need an IDP. The requirement lasted about 4 months back in 2013 and was an ill judged piece of legislation by the governor, Rick Scott.

You also need a valid credit card (or for some companies a valid debit card will do)

You didn't ask but nor do you need a code from DVLA.

Make sure that you hire from a reputable UK broker such as Andy at DFCH and all insurances will be included. Nothing to pay for excesses etc.
