When will US borders open?

Based on the news coming out of the US yesterday (article here: reuters/world/us/exc...al-2021-07-26/) when do you think the US borders will open to us?

My August trip was cancelled and I'm not too hopeful for this year now 🙄

I'm considering a trip in October but it's so hard to plan as I don't want to book any DVC and then not be able to bank the points if I need to cancel. So hard to know what to do

We’re trying in October too 🤞 not wdw though, we’ve got a week booked in Naples and I’m so hoping it goes ahead.

Got to cancel our august flights this week as they’re still operating 😢 but hoping to book a last minute trip using them once the next traffic light review is in.

Tbh, and not putting a damperner on things, im still thinking 2022.
Orlando is kicking off on covid again, they seem to have gotten lax on the virus less than 50% of the population have had or want the jab of any variant.
Biden has requested the Americans do not travel to anypart of Europe or the
Y-uk.
🤷 Im sure its not just me.
But saying that, i really hope im wrong

I would be shocked if it was before year's end. The trend lines here do not look favorable... especially in Florida. Hopefully I am wrong for you DIBBers patiently waiting to come over.

Maybe there will be some kind of modified opening where only those with proof of vaccine can enter? I know its a hot button topic...but with cases and variants on the rise I don't see how they could have an unrestricted opening anytime soon.

Not getting excited. Our inept government should be striking bilateral deals on travel but seem hell bent on allowing everyone in and no consideration on expanding outward travel.
Apparently USA have no app or system to show they are double vaccinated.
Typical inept uk policy.
