One thing to try is to put the thermostat in to standalone mode.
This then makes the hive act like a standard wireless thermostat without the need of a hive hub.

Doing this will rule out the app, hub and internet connections.

I love my hive app.

I had a similar issue to the OP some time agai but it was nothing to do with the Hive app it was something to do with a valve that had got stuck.

We have had Hive about a year now and love it. I would try Stu's suggestion or putting it on to manual and switching the heating off to see if that works. Not had any experience of customer services as we haven't needed them so far.

Another one that loves Hive, have had it for 4 years and couldn’t live without it.
Also agree that it sounds like an installation issue.
Hope you get it sorted.

The hive is now working and we do like it so far !
The plumber who installed it didn’t bother turning up to fix it so he’s lost an annual service ! Between husband and an electrician friend they worked out it was wired incorrectly.
Thanks everyone.

Seems to be harder and harder to find competent decent tradespeople these days!

I have had Hive for several years now in a couple of properties and I wouldn't be without it now. I use not just their heating but also their smart lights & plugs all integrated with Alexa and my Apple watch.

Stu. The trouble is so many people call themselves Tradesmen when all they actually are is somebody who has a fair bit of experience working in the industry

Electricians and Gas Fitters are different as they have to be regulated but even Electricians can skirt around the Regs by having a colleague certify their work

I was City & Guilds qualified at both basic and advanced level. That took 4 years and only at the end of that period could I call myself a Tradesmen and work on any Carpentry & Joinery job on any site or home.

Sad to say those days are long gone and now we have people declaring their trade for example as 'kitchen fitter' or 'Master builder' . What type of darn Trades is that supposed to be!

As an aside some of the best work done in recent years is by the Eastern Europeans most of whom sadly left pre Brexit.

Absolute detest people like this. I'd report him to 'Gas Safe', if he's incompetent wiring in a Hive he's probably shoddy when working on Gas appliances and a danger to others !

I don't like seeing Gas Fitters doing any wiring.

My Mate who does all my Gas work wont even do anything apart from plug in the boiler in to a wall socket!

Now I get another Mate of mine to do the electrics set up for a boiler but otherwise the Gas Guy uses one of his Mates.

That way each Trade to their own and never the twain shall meet.
