How to pay.

Hi,

we are going to Orlando in April 22. First visit for 10 years.

We have always taken cash as we prefer to know what we have and find it easier to budget.

After visiting 3 uk theme parks recently we found that they have all been cashless and i am assuming the USA counterparts will be the same due to the pandemic.

Any advice on the best cashless way to go in Orlando?

Credit card, cash card, debit card or is cash still accepted?

Would like to be confident that whatever we use will be accepted by all and will not let us down.

In Disney now and some of the QS places have been mobile orders only, so there's no way to pay cash. I'm using a prepaid card that I transferred a set budget to.

Noticed in the shops as well that a lot of the tills were set to card only. I'm doing room charge for that though, which is set to charge my (no fee Forex) credit card.

Things are going cashless but not as much as here. As recommended a lot, I use a halifax clarity credit card (no fees), and also have a starling bank account (also no fees). I use starting as a backup and also use it to withdraw cash if I need/want to. Have done this for years.

If you find it easier to budget using cash you may find using starling a better option, transfer the money from your bank account to starling, then you know how much you are spending, they have an app that notifies you every time you spend, and you can easily keep track of what you have spent. A little harder to do with the halifax as it's a credit card, but still doable.

If you say you only have cash they will allow this

At Casey's, they were definitely turning away anyone not mobile ordering. Satuli were checking for order confirmations before letting people in as well.

Doesn't bother me since I prefer to use mobile order anyway.

Monzo - you can have different pots and just top up the current account as needed so if it did get hacked you'd lose a minimal amount. I usually leave 200 in the current account bit then top up as I spend. Hope that makes sense!
