Chip Muffin £1.60
Jumbo Sausage £1.20

Please explain to this southerner what is a chip muffin is as never heard of it or seen it advertised in our neck of the woods. Our local chippie does a cod special which is under £5.

Our local chippy sells large cod and chips for £6.80 here in Wales, which can easily be shared for 2 of us. Pies are £1.90, large sausage £1.10 or £1.20 if it’s battered, pots of curry or mushy peas are £1.10. Not something we eat very often but it’s a cheap option occasionally. I don’t think I’d ever eat fish and chips if it cost £10+

A chip muffin does exactly what it says on the tin 😀

It’s chips in a muffin ( or bap , barm , roll , tea cake or similar )

We rarely go as the best chippy is about 4 miles away and has odd opening times but it’s about £8.50 for fish and chips. They are pretty huge though.

I picked up fish and chips on Tuesday from a different chippie, £6 for regular cod and chips.

Our normal comes to £13.10 for 1x haddock & chips, 1 x cod & chips, 1x mushy peas and a large sausage for the dog

I was surprised about the macaroni but then given a lot of the chippies here have Italian origins they maybe refuse to do that to pasta 😂

When we lived in Shawlands Salt & Vinegar had started to do a white pudding but haven't seen anywhere else. My husband tried to get them at our new local butcher and was laughed out the shop!
