Krusteaz pancake/waffle mix

Does anyone use this?

I bought a huge bag of it from costco last month and I tried making pancakes with it and omg it wasn't good! I need some tips on what I was doing wrong. I followed the instructions on the bag but they were heavy and weren't fluffy at all!

Also, is there anything else you can use it for or is it just pancakes and waffles... its a big bag and i'm hoping its not going to just end up in the bin

My daughter absolutely loves this for waffles. It's not so great for pancakes though.

Really don�t like this , I feel it has an aftertaste.

Try aunt Bessies American pancake and waffle mix �1 at Morrison�s, makes pancakes as nice as you can get at I hop . All you need is water and 2 eggs to the mix
Tip add teaspoon of vanilla extract and a teaspoon baking powder, makes delicious pancakes, makes 12 from a single pack, or can make larger ones .

Maybe i'll try it for waffles. I do have a waffle machine somewhere, just haven't used it for about 10 years!

I will look out for the aunt bessie mix but I have a million kg of this one atm lol

I had this years ago, thought it was amazing and made lovely fluffy pancakes. Maybe they have changed the recipe since?

I think I maybe over mixed it. It does say just water. Having just googled and looked at a few you tube vids, seems ppl use milk and also an egg. may try that instead!

I used to make it but they were never fluffy, they actually were quite hard lol . I made with Water too.

buy and use this all the time from costco and pancakes are lovely

think you have to get the consistency right for pancakes, mixture not overly thick

We always buy this from Costco but it took us a while to get them nice! I found adding just a tiny bit of extra water from what it said to make it slightly runnier (only a really small bit) and not overmixing. My other tip I found was just to spoon it out in the pan, rather than pouring it and make sure it's fairly thin (I found it rises/is fluffier). I think if you spoon too much in the pan it ends up too thick, doesn't cook very well and is very heavy

Make sure you really let the pan heat up enough and just use a pastry brush to coat the bottom in butter.

For the pancakes, we just add water
Waffles, we add the egg and a drop of oil.

I'd keep persevering, as I say it took us a while!
