Do you bleed afterwards? I didn’t think there would be anything left to bleed 🙈
What is the recovery time frame? Can you still drive? My youngest needs to get to school and my husband will be at work, he is a teacher so can’t take term time off.
I don’t even know how long the waiting list is for the operation, I assume its longer than usual due to covid.
Sorry OP I seem to have bombarded your post with more questions 🙈🙈
Good luck with your appt next week - hope you get all of the answers you need xx

When I got mine I got a date three weeks away. I wasnt able to drive for almost 6 weeks. The issue wasnt about how I felt but my ability to undertake and emergency stop with very delicate inner stitches etc.

I had mine at 42 because of fibroids and I must admit I was very emotional when I went down as I had never had children and I was grieving a little for something I would never have. The surgery wasnt too bad and I had an open subtotal hysterectomy. I havent needed HRT so I think I have been lucky. In retrospect it was hard but its the best thing I have ever done.

I had a total abdominal hysterectomy and my ovaries taking out due to a massive fibroid. I had to have a vertical incision as the fibroid was so large it filled my stomach. I only went to the doctors because my stomach was very bloated. My periods were regular and bleeding was normal.

I had no bleeding after, the worst pain for me was when they took the drain out, felt like they were slicing my stomach open.

No driving for 6 weeks, no hoovering and plenty of rest I was told. Plenty of peppermints as the wind pain can be awful. I have managed without any HRT.

Take things slowly, dont try and rush back to your normal daily routine.

At least you don’t have too long to wait. Try not to worry too much and hope all goes well x

Had mine at 40 and was thrilled! I’d battled for years with endless bleeding and pain so it was a huge relief.
I bounced back very quickly and was able to resume all activities and exercise at 6 weeks. I was so relieved.

Hi, glad you are OK

How are you feeling today?

I hope you have a quick recovery and you are feeling much better soon.

I’m currently on the waiting list for a second laparoscopic surgery (Endometriosis) after the first one I had, the best thing I drank was peppermint tea, recommended by someone on here. It was the shoulder pain from the gas they use that was just awful! Apparently peppermint helps ease the gas out, or something like that! It really helped me.

Take it easy and keep resting x
