Looking for a dehumidifier. Update.
Recommendations needed please. I am looking for a reasonably priced machine that is good value for money. I should add it is for a four bedroom house having five occupants and a huge amount of washing, probably between 10 and 14 8kg loads per week.

Do you mean you have washing drying in the house and need a dehumidifier with a laundry mode ?
I did a lot of research on this and bought a 12 litre Electriq with laundry mode. I definitely don't recommend as it only lasted a week. The fan stopped spinning and that was that. Luckily I had bought it from Appliances Direct and they gave a full refund. Now I'm looking at a more powerful unit by Ebac. The 1st one was £149 and wasn't powerful enough. The ebac I'm looking at is bigger. Edited at 05:05 PM. |

We have a Meaco 20L one. It works great. It is amazing how much water it collects. Don’t know about value for money and how it compares to others - we just wanted one that worked.

We have a Meaco Dessicant Dehumidifier. I use it for laundry and it dries things quickly. I also put it on every day in winter in the conservatory, it costs very little to run. We have had it for 10 years and will happily buy another.

Also, some of the units imply they use less electricity but in my experience it just means you have to run them for longer to extract a similar amount of water.
For a 4bed house anything less than a 20 litre isn't going to be big enough. Edited at 05:08 PM. |

We have a Midea from Toolstation. It is compact and doesn’t make much noise. We also have the small ones which use the crystals on every window bottom in the house. I do try not to dry too much washing in the house though for creating damp and daughter also has asthma. I try to peg out even in winter if I can or use the tumble dryer.
