It's always been the case for Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic package, although I don't think they specifically state it anywhere beforehand as the inclusions are generic across all the restaurants. But you can read every single trippie or review for the package there and never seen an alternative mentioned.

It's what actually put me off MM, being special diets - although I'm sure they'd substitute in that instance.

..but Mama Melrose is mentioned in the dining package and states:

"Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano
Tempt taste buds with the bold, home-style flavors of authentic Italian fare—from delizioso pasta, seafood or chicken dishes to Mama’s own tiramisù or an amazing Ghirardelli chocolate and cherry tort. Buon appetito!"

I'm not trying to be awkward, just confused. I was not aware the dessert was not an option.

I've emailed WDW and will see what they say. Thanks.

I wouldn't put too much value in what's on the website in that context TBH, it's probably just the standard line for MM.

I double checked DIS and people are still reporting that it's only the sampler on the package, up until a few weeks ago (last entry I could find) at least. But dining at HS is very low on my agenda, so it's not really news I keep up with.

Okay thanks. It's not a deal-breaker for us, just slightly disappointed we don't get to choose a dessert. I'm sure we'll not go hungry with the DDP I guess worst case, we could always pay OOP for a dessert if it was that important.
