Universal Tickets for 1 day

Some of our party are planning on going to Universal for 1 day during our trip (not sure what day yet).

Looking at the universal website they are currently $115 + tax each.

My question is, is this the best way to do get tickets as I would preferably order the night before as it says it can deliver via mobile ticket (by email and to wallet - How does this work can i just show my phone) or will call at kiosk other than getting at the ticket office on the day. Or is it cheaper to queue up on the day and get directly from the ticket office?

What have others done before. We are only going to pick one park to do.

Hope this makes sense

TIA

For a 1 day ticket, the price at the entrance on the day will be the same as the online price from Universal's website. For multi-day tickets it's cheaper to buy online.

For the mobile ticket, yes I assume you can just show the ticket on your phone. From what I remember they have handheld scanners so they'll scan the ticket barcode on your phone just like they would with a regular ticket. It'll work just like any other e-ticket on a mobile phone.

The $115 ticket is just for one park, so they will only be able to go to either Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure - not both.

If they want to do the Harry Potter stuff with the Hogwarts Express, then they will need the park to park 1 day ticket.
