I'm new, please help with rider switch!
Hi,
I'm new to the forum and to Orlando, first timers travelling next week! We are quite a large group and we have booked FP's for all of our adults and older children for rides such as EE and FOP which I knew the youngest in our party wouldn't be tall enough for. My question is with the changes to the rider switch policy at WDW, if myself and another adult wait back with the youngest children will we still be eligible for the rider switch return times even if we technically have a valid FP slot? I'm thinking we could probably just use the FP slot we already have once party 1 come off the ride (presuming they queue, ride and get off on time) but then we wouldn't be able to take the older children back on with us for a second ride would we? Sorry if that doesn't make any sense, I'm new to all this FP and rider switch thing! So any help is much appreciated! |

I've been trying to figure this out top as we are a party of 10 including 2 children. I am not sure how the rider switch is working now it's been changed! Hopefully someone with experience can enlighten us

Yes.
The only things that have changed with the new Rider Switch system is that: 1. It's all electronic now and stored on your account. You don't get paper tickets any more. 2. You get a 1 hour return window which is supposed to start when Party 1 have come off (i.e. the start time is based on the current wait time). Previously the Rider Switch ticket could be used at any time during that day or month. If you all have fastpasses then you can still get a Rider Switch pass. Party 2 can then use the Rider Switch pass - this can only be for a maximum of 3 people though. If you wanted, you could then amend the fastpasses that the people in Party 2 had to a different ride. Or, if you all have fastpasses then just use those and not bother with Rider Switch. It's up to you.

Thank you Nimbus, that exactly explains my question. I was hoping I would be able to amend the fastpasses for party 2. My son will definitely be too short for some of these rides so rider switch will definitely work better for us!
