Dubai and Japan Summer 2018 Day 4

So today was a travel day so not much to write about today. We flew on the A380 to Narita. Really was a great flight. Our seats had been moved from window seats which I was a bit miffed about it at first but it worked out better as it was a night flight and it meant we could sleep without worrying about a stranger being next to us.

The food and service as always was excellent. You got loads to eat and the quality was good. They also did a drinks service mid flight and you could request drinks from them at any time. The entertainment system was excellent too. Plus my screen worked perfectly this flight. As it was a night flight I did sleep for most of the way anyway.

We landed bang on schedule at 17:30 but had to wait for a departing a380 from our stand. An hour later we exited the plane. Immigration was quick though and soon I was meeting up with my brother, sister in law, nephew and niece. We haven’t seen each other since 2013 so looking forward to catching up in a new country and seeing the sights.

I had booked a Japan WiFi buddy for our trip as we are wandering around a lot. Think it cost about £65 for the two weeks and you can connect 10 devices. You collect it from the post office in Narita Terminal 2 on the second floor. Really easy to connect and we had WiFi before we’d even left the terminal building.

We bought tickets from the limousine bus as it seemed the most effective and cheapest way to get to our accommodation. If anyone remembers our Airbnb trauma well we were going to find out whether the replacement accommodation was ok. I was a bit nervous about it but communication had been very good from the host. We caught the limousine bus to the Weston then walked 20 minutes to our apartment using google maps. The host had sent clear instructions with photographs which helped.

Luggage in hand we caught the elevator up to the 5th floor to the smallest apartment ever. It sure is going to be cosy! I’ll take photos tomorrow.

Tomorrow we are going to get our bearings and go out exploring. Should be fun!
