Mobile How does DAS work?

Hi all, I think my husband will qualify for a DAS pass, can anyone tell me how this works in practice? Do we have to use all our fast passes before we can use the DAS pass? Our first park will be animal kingdom, does anyone know if I can get the DAS pass there or do we have to go to magic kingdom? Thanks

DAS passes can be arranged at Guest Services at any park and than last for your whole stay. They are in addition to Fastpasses and can overlap your prebooked Fastpasses. You can only have one DAS return time at a time but the window lasts for the rest of the day if you don't use it immediately.

the one thing I would add is it basically allows you to queue in the standby line without actually physically doing so so whatever the standby wait time it that will be your return time.

we used it for 7dmt standby as it was one I never booked as I thought my 6 year old wouldn't want to go on it but once we were there they really wanted to go on it and I couldn't get a fastpass. Standby Wait time was 50 mins so we got give our return time then went off and did one of our fastpasses and browsed a bit while we waited then you just return to the fastpass line and scan your bands as normal- just make sure the person who qualifies for das scans theirs first

its really easy and while we only used it a couple of times it can be a huge help
