When I got a positive result for covid I thought a recovery letter was easier. But now its just added to the cost.

I think the reason that you need a signed letter and not use the app is that you can state you have covid without actually having to prove it.
All you need to do is report a posive lateral flow on the gov.website. They then send you a code that you put into your COVID-19 app. This then will update you NHS App that you have Covid. But we could all lie and do that so that we dont have to do the pre departure test. Edited at 03:14 PM. |

Well thats what i though, but looking at the gov.uk website, if you have a positive LFT then you cant take a PCR test.
