A brief summary of what's happening at CBR:

***It has now been confirmed that Disney are building a new DVC resort, called Riviera resort on the land where Barbados and part of Martinique once stood.
See below for announcement details***

• Old Port Royal food court/games room/shutters & shop now closed.
The new food areas are due to re-open summer 2018 - date given by WDW was August 18th, but subject to change.(Edited to say: it now looks like OPR food areas etc won't be open until late 2018)

• Barbados village and half of Martinique have been demolished to make way for new Riviera Resort and the new gondola transportation system, that will operate between CBR, AoA, Pop Century, Epcot and HS.

Building work of Riviera Resort expected until 2019.

• Temporary food court by main pool - buffet breakfast and dinner one QS credit.

• Island markets(rooms converted to grab & go shops) available at:
Martinique 2509, Jamaica 4308 aAruba 5524.

• Coke freestyle machines are in the ground floor vending areas of: Martinique building 25, trin north 31, trin south 34 and 38, Jamaica 43 and 46 and Aruba 52 and 54.

• Food truck(limited menu) by food tent serving breakfast from 7 am -11:30 and lunch/ dinner from 11:30 - 9pm.

• In-room pizza delivery - 2 TS credits or pay cash/cc.

• Concierge Now in Trinidad North room 3109.

• Preferred rooms are now all in Trinidad North until further notice.

• Trinidad South should have a new quick service food area by early/mid 2018.

• Change of bus route from 25/6/17 to:

1st stop: Martinique
2nd: Old Port Royale

During busy times in the morning, the "A" side (Martinique, OPR, TN & TS) and "B" side (Jamaica and Aruba) will still be split into 2 separate runs

First notification from Disney re new Riviera Resort - Taken from WDW Magic 16/7/17:

'Disney has today announced plans to build a brand new Disney Vacation Club Resort near to Epcot called Disney Riviera Resort.

The new resort will open in the fall of 2019, featuring 300 accommodation units, and linked via the new Disney Skyliner gondola system.

Disney Skyliner will connect the new Disney Vacation Club property, Disney’s Art of Animation, Pop Century and Caribbean Beach resorts with Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the International Gateway at Epcot.'

Hi Louiseanne,
Sorry, I can't quote from previous thread, but, just wanted to ask who you booked with & whether they will move you to another moderate or even de-luxe resort foc before you do it yourself.

If you do do it yourself - Pop century is a lovely resort with big food court and good shop, you can also walk across/round the lake to AoA and use the food court there which has imo a lot better food choices than PC.
😊
