Sounds like things are sorting themselves out. Must have been quite a shock. I hope you can have a relatively comfortable extended stay.

I would pop out and get some supplies in case you test positive soon, then you are not reliant on the hotel looking after you.

Food, Snacks, water, paracetamol, magazines would be top of my list.

It is unlikely that your insurers will cover any costs incurred by anyone other than your wife. They will not consider you and your son staying on as an act of a reasonable prudent uninsured and you may be prejudicing your wife’s claim. The costs may not be an issue for you, but I mention this just in case they are.

Op, really sorry to hear this. It really does show the importance of a Plan B and C and the need to take extra money and credit card, have Internet access and all the phone numbers needed should the ... hit the fan.

Hang in there, just try to keep your wife calm and happy.

I would definitely seek advice From insurance ASAP re cover for anyone other than your wife. I fell Ill on holiday a few years back and insurance said they wouldn’t pay for our son to stay on with DH and DD. He was 17 so still a child on their policy. No way did I want him flying home alone whilst I was in hospital and we agreed DH would go home with both kids and I would follow when I could, they were literally about to leave for the airport when insurance company rang back and did a massive u turn and agreed to allow them all to stay.
