Thanks for dragging this up from the bowels of the trip reports cupboard... I re-read that day and it brought it all back. Can still remember the CM who was freaking out with us, Ive actually seen him behind the mickey bar stall at the bottom of main street since,

Wonder if he got sacked from parade duties and demoted to mickey bars through us?

Bren, I have just read this.. OMG I am ROTFLOL...

I was in a jazz band too.. oh the shame! We must have went past the same 3 Mams and a dog they got around.

Which one were you in? I was in the Marsden Shoreliners who were orange & brown crimpolene () but was scouted by the Golden Eagles (yellow and blue proper cotton ) as I was big enough to carry the banner- big mistake, bleddy awful job and i quit after getting a blister.

I don't know if I should divulge such information.. lol. I was in the Shieldfield Falcons.. started off on banner, holding the strings and then progressed to Kazoo. We were coffee and cream.
Them were the days..
