Never Say Never! - December 2014 - Day 7 - Hollywood Studios, Epcot & ANOTHER resort change!

Never Say Never! - December 2014 - Day 7 - Hollywood Studios, Epcot & ANOTHER resort change!

No rest for the wicked, we were up and about at 7!

Not so bad though, we didn’t have far to go for breakfast as we had an 7.45 reservation at Boma.

We’ve done Boma before but never at breakfast and I was looking forward to lots of yummy sweet treats!

We’d walked back from Jambo house the night before and it hadn’t been as far as we’d first thought so we decided to do the same thing today rather than wait for a bus, it took 10 mins MAX.

It was still a little nippy this morning but both myself, and my shorts, were hopeful of a nice warm day!

Boma opened at 7.30 so we were pretty much the first to check in. We were given a lovely table near the window overlooking the pool.

For some reason this morning I was ravenous so I left Adam to order me some coffee and jungle juice and headed up to the buffet, nobody gets between me and food when I’m hungry.

I spied all the lovely sweet treats but decided to be sensible and start with some savoury options first.

goes without saying it was yummy, especially the Ham.

Then a quick palette cleanser, fruit

Not much, fruit is a waste of stomach room at this sort of buffet I feel. Then onto the good stuff!

not to be out done Adam grabbed some sweet treats and joined me

then I settle into the food of GODS

mickey waffles with maple and pecan sauce.

honestly amazing, I’m dribbling just thinking about it again, nom nom nom.

ANYWAY. we’d eaten quickly and had no room for “forths”, or whatever you call the course that comes after thirds, gut rot probably!

We headed out via the pool

It was a shame we hadn’t had chance to use any pools so far this trip, this one looked very inviting, and judging by the “smoke” coming off it, it was WARM!

We were leaving today so I went to the shop to pickup my shopping from DTD from a few days earlier before heading back to the room it pack up. Adam wanted a quick shower so it was my turn to sit and admire the view one last time.

It really was an amazing resort, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I know it’s rather out of the way compared to other resorts but as the buses were so timely it felt closer than SSR at times!

We headed to drop the luggage off at reception so it could begin it’s journey to BWV before heading to the bus stops and jumping on the Hollywood studios bus that was sat waiting, hurrah!

We knew we weren’t going to make park opening as we’d taken our time and as we arrived it felt noticeably busier than I was expecting :/

We already had fast passes for toy story mania so we headed over. This was one of the occasions where the new system really worked for us as we’d never have got one “on the day” otherwise

I won again, obviously

Adam still insisted it was a fluke…ooooooook

As it was so busy we decided to head into the animation studio and meet mickey. Whilst looking THREE separate people stopped me to compliment me on my t-shirt. What can I say, I rock at disney fashion Sporting the same look at home and I’m branded “special”, at least when I wear it to work anyway :P

We queued a while for mickey but there were two adorable little girls in front of us dressed as princesses and we practiced our curtsies and royal waves together so time passed quickly.

Finally it was our turn, big squeeze for mickey!

and a fist pump for adam

and a nice few piccies

Next I had fast passes booked for beauty and the beast (yes you read that correctly, thanks to a “glitch” just before our trip we’d rebooked our fp’s when all the tiers disappeared for a few hours)

We headed over and grabbed some pics outside, someone forgot his glasses again…

Adam wasn’t interested so we decided to split up. I would go and see the show and Adam was “do something else”

Soo I headed in on my own

I saw some of this

whilst adam did his “something else”

I saw some more

Any guesses what Adam did then? yeeeees adam did this

then came the finale

and of course, Adam did this

All in all a successful morning for both of us.

We met up outside TOT then for our last FP of the day

before heading in twice

love sleeping guy in that last one :P

We headed past the FP area on the way out and grabbed the only decent thing left, RnR at 3pm (it was 12.30)

The effects of breakfast were wearing off to we decided to grab some lunch. Adam really wanted a pizza from Pizza Planet so we headed over. I wasn’t really in the mood for pizza so I left him to it and headed all the way around the park to the dockside diner to grab a hot dog

BUT THEY WERE SHUT!

AT LUNCHTIME!

So I headed straight back to Adam empty handed not feeling in the mood to eat anything else… I sulked basically :P

Whilst Adam was finishing his pizza I headed back to the christmas shop to see if I could get the christmas dec I had seen a few days ago… but they had sold out!

TYPICAL, I KNEW I should have bought it when I saw it. Adam saw it as more revenge for his minion mug last year though so wasn’t particularly sympathetic, humph!

Next we headed to the great movie ride to let dinner go down, grabbing a photo on the way

Then we headed to use our fast passes on RnR, riding as single rider first. I got to ride along side a cast member who was escorting a group around.

how bored does he look!

Adam looked terrified

probably from the bald head in front!

We then decided to call it a day and headed out of the park at around 4ish

The boat was busy so we had to wait for a second but we were soon on our way. We decided to get off at the yacht club and look at the christmas decorations before walking round to the boardwalk

My dad would LOVE one of these

The tree looked great as well

but does anyone else think it looks like they chopped the top off to make it fit?

We couldn’t believe this was made with chocolate, it was so well done

Now we’d explored the other epcot resorts we thought it was about time we visited ours

so we set off around the lake, such a beautiful area, I would happily spend days just sitting here watching the world go by

Finally we made it!

no “fancy” decs in the lobby but they do have a gingerbread cone stand!

check in was easy and we were soon heading up to the room

this was us

Now I knew we had a 1 bedroom with a boardwalk view but I hadn’t told Adam as I didn’t want him to be disappointed as I’d read on forums that some of the boardwalk views can be sketchy at best.

this one though, did not disappoint!

bang on exactly where I wanted to be in the crest of the wave section, and boy what a VIEW!

We had epcot planned tonight but we decided to stay a while and watch the sunset. I’m glad we did, it was one of those magical disney moments where I wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else in the world at that moment.

We had no reservations tonight, instead the plan was to explore world showcase and grab what we fancied.

Now the phrase “What we fancied” gives the impression there was no plan… but of COURSE there was a plan!

In fact I had a list!

yep, my snack list, and considering we were several days into the holiday we hadn’t done very much at all! so tonight I planned on ticking a lot more off!

We decided to walk and so head out into the grounds, I loved the christmas lights that came on whilst I was waiting for Adam

First stop, France!

As you can see it was a little cooler this evening!

We headed to the bakery first and although I was very tempted by the festive offering, a yule log

I stuck to my list and grabbed a croissant

This was VERY nice, lots of buttery salty goodness! I also wanted to get some ice-cream treats from France but as we were on the savoury and Adam hadn’t had anything yet we decided to grab it on the way back

1 down, LOTS to go!

We stopped for a photo by the fountains again,

for some reason I look completely manic, must be the excitement of the initial list ticking!

Although I was mainly exploring food options tonight I was adamant that we would also explore the other countries, something we never do together.

So we did, I think Adam even enjoyed the Japanese department store!

By now Adam was hungry, but he didn’t just want snacks, he wanted “proper” food. This he found in china where he grabbed a honey chicken with rice. No photo as whilst he was eating this I was off grabbing some “happy face fried cake” to tick another festive treat off my list

these were…. interesting.

Not unpleasant, far from it. But they were a little hard to eat on their own, I was very thirsty afterwards.

Whilst I waited for Adam I also picked up a “holiday passport”, so I could see what else I was missing.

We got as far as Norway where I picked up a school bread to save for breakfast before we doubled back on ourselves to head to Germany.

Here we purchases a hot caramel drink and sat outside to drink it

WOW. AMAZING

It’s like melted werther's originals, in fact it IS melted werther's originals and god was it GOOD!

We’d bought one to share, which was probably a good move considering it was very sickly, but despite this neither of us was particularly fond of handing it over :P

They were doing some sort of nutcracker enactment here which we sat and watched for a bit

Afterwards we decided we should probably head back, and picked up anything else we fancied on the way back, it wasn’t particularly late but we were both pretty pooped.

We got stuck in the chaos around america again as they were just letting out a candlelight processional performance, jeez we were bad at timing with these!

So as it was so frantic I almost lost Adam whilst ducking into Morocco to grab some baklava to tick off the list.

By the time we reached france we decided against ice-cream cocktails, choosing to save them for a later night and instead started walking back.

A boat was almost ready to leave as we left WS so we jumped on, I know it’s not far but still.

Boy was it getting chilly now we were out in the open.

When the boat docked Adam decided he wanted a cocktail, so we walked, shivering, to the FROZEN cocktail stand where there was no queue (shocker!) here we grabbed a margarita and a strawberry daiquiri

We carried these back up to our room as best we could without spilling them everywhere. The epcot fireworks were starting as we arrived so we grabbed some chairs and pulled them towards the window so we could sit and watch, it was too cold to sit on the balcony, even inside I was wrapped in a towel to keep warm, although that may have been because I was drinking a frozen drink!

Halfway through the fireworks I nodded off on my chair so when I woke I finished my cocktail, had a quick shower and headed into the bedroom to lie down.

I couldn’t believe how sleepy I was and I prayed I wasn’t coming down with something, I’d certainly been all over the place today, ravenous this morning, no appetite at lunch and now I was completely shattered!

I must have nodded off again on the bed because next thing I knew Adam was nudging me to wake up as the Wishes fireworks had started. We both sat in the bed with the curtains open and watched the show, well Adam did, I think I nodded off halfway through, still a magical experience to end the day on though
