Aldi prices were disappointingly high a couple of weeks back Wal-Mart seemed a better option,we are huge Aldi fans in the UK, but the US store in Haines City was not for us.

Fruit veg and perishables are the dearest thing, 90p for a red onion $4.0 for 4 oranges, dont they grow them here?
Farmers markets are better, but not by a lot. The only thing we really buy is washing n loo stuff (not for use together) soft drinks , but this year we are only drinking water, beer and the occastional treat.

I see this said a lot about Publix, which may be true or not for own brand stuff (I’m not really convinced about that, I suspect just like here a lot of it is made the same places), but they generally both sell the same branded stuff. Shopping at Publix though is a much more pleasant experience, if expensive. I made the mistake of visiting Walmart on Turkey Lake Road, frankly I wish I had spent more and gone to Wholefoods. Customer service was atrocious with a 30 minute wait to get through the till- no exaggeration. The moronic check out staff had zero sense of urgency, and with zero training I could have scanned things twice as fast. They also had a large amount of closed tills, despite the long lines.

We love Publix and as we stay at Championsgate, we have a couple to choose from in that area. Both are clean and light and have reasonble range of food.

We also like the Walmart at the top of Old Lake Wilson Road, new and great range of food.

We are staying approximately halfway between both of those stores so will no doubt end up using both but probably the Walmart the most as it's on the way back from the parks.

If there's a Vons close by we found there prices the best (with a Vons card the lady gave us) on our west coast trip last month ... in Orlando we only ever buy sweets and rubbish in Walmart but west coast we needed real food and oh my it was CRAZY 😜
