Avis MCO - A or B?
I see that there are 2 Avis pickups, one in each terminal. I assume your car is in the one that you land into. We are flying with Aer Lingus.
Do you have to drop at the correct terminal? |

Hi. You can pick up in either and drop off in either. They are mirror images of each other and it matters not.
Somebody will pop on soon to say which is the nearer but I think it's B albeit I have never flown Aer Lingus.

We now mostly use Alamo but when we have used Avis as preferred members our name has been on the board with the location of our allocated car, so would your name be on the board at both sides of the terminal? Or just at the side that your airline uses?

Having only used Avis once when it was part of a very competitive BA fly-drive offer it might be that our experience was not typical and could have changed since Nov 2017.
As Mr Morrow says, BA (and the other UK operators VS and TC) land at side B. When I researched Avis Preferred back in the summer/autumn of 2017 it became clear from Avis regulars that with a BA deal anyway your car will be on side B. Your name will not be on a board on the first time you use Avis Preferred. Your car is also pre-allocated unlike Alamo. According to the MCO website though Aer Lingus land at side A so I can't say where the car will be. Also as Mr Morrow says you can return your car to either side A or B. We always return to B as it's nearer the 417 which we use to get to MCO. Mick

Thanks all. Actually booked with BA rather than Aer Lingus so I'm going to guess the booking will be at garage B.
Just noticed that although my flight time has changed by an hour later to 22:40 my car return is still sitting as 19:35. Seems a bit early to me - I've emailed BA to see if they can move it on an hour. |

Three hours before the flight departure is the recommended time to be at the airport anyway for checking in and security so your timing seems about right.
The important thing though is to return it at a time that is earlier than when you drove out of the barrier as you are charged in 24 hour increments. If you leave MCO car garage at say 20.00 you should return it by 19.59 or you may be charged an extra day. Alamo have grace periods before the extra charge kicks in but not sure about Avis. Mick

Not necessarily.. It depemds in which airline you actually fly with nit who you booked with. We had Aer Lingus flights booked by BA and the car was at A but we went to B instead. But if you do go to the 'wrong' side you will still get a car so it isn't a big problem.
If you have the Avis App it does show where your car is. Edited at 11:07 AM. |
