My sons gone back to Toronto!

I feel so sad, won’t see him till September at his wedding.
They were out everyday, so we saw them most days but it went really quick.
This was us having our second Christmas dinner

DS24 went back to the Netherlands on the 28th Dec & DD20 went back to Aberdeen on the 5th Jan.
We are in Essex.
I hate the long months in between visits.

However both are back for a few days for my Dads funeral on the 17th.

Bittersweet.
How can I be both dreading it yet looking forward to that time at the same time?

After that we should all be visiting the Netherlands at Easter as DD will be 21 in April & DS 25 in March so it's something to hold on to.

I also feel so sad when they leave x

Nice that you got to see them and it'll be September before you know it. Couldn't help but notice your future daughter in law's plate is half empty - hope she's not starving herself for the Wedding.

Sandra you have done your job as a parent well. Our job is to give our children 'roots and wings' and that is what you have done. I am sure you would not want children that are scared to adventure and live their lives to the full.

What a lovely photo. Great memories.
My brother lives in Abu Dhabi with his 3 kids. They spent the week before Christmas at my mum an dads so we got to see them and had an early Christmas dinner.
They have been away for nearly 5 years now and I must admit I miss them like crazy. Even though they lived in the south of England before that, this is a bit different as I can’t just jump on a flight. Since they have gone though I have went over there once a year and they have been back. I find that when it’s getting close to seeing them, the feelings of how much I miss them multiply. It must be because I know I will be seeing them soon.
What I will say is that time passes quickly. And before you know it, it will be time for their wedding which will give you even more amazing memories.
