We stayed in Asakusa where the skytree is, if you can do it! The views are amazing! There’s a really cool mall at the base of the skytree with a moomin cafe!
Sorry but is that the name of a part of Tokyo, or the hotel you stayed in?

Sorry, yes it’s a district in the northern part of the city. The Sensō-ji temple is also in this area, I highly recommend visiting this, it is really beautiful & with beautiful gardens & shrine. It has lots of little shops & stalls in the grounds. We stayed in the red planet hotel about 5 min walk from there & it took about 45 mins in total to get to Disneyland, on 2 different trains!

If I were you I wouldn't go to Disney at all. You only really have one day and you will be a little disoriented especially if this is your first time in Japan.

I would personally explore, maybe Hamarikyu gardens, or Rikugien gardens. Then as suggested, Senso-ji temple which is close to Skytree. Then on to Skytree. I like the shopping in the sky tree mall - there is a Daiso, which is my favourite Japanese shop 😀 (Think cross between Lakeland and Poundland). If you opt for Hamarikyu then I would go to Tokyo Tower instead of Skytree and explore shimbashi/Ginza area.
Yoyogi Park, Meiji temple and harajuku would be another option...

Eat some amazing Ramen, people watch and see the 'real world'.

Enjoy.
