Mobile Best character dining?

I'm so excited to be taking my niece for her first Disney experience in October and she's desperate to do character dining. Ideally, I'd like to do lunch or dinner. Chef Mickey menu looks horrible but I'm a bit unsure of everything else. Recommendations?
TIA

We did breakfast with Mickey at chef Mickey's and it was amazing. Food was outstanding, buffet style so fill your boots territory. Lots of choice in terms fruit, pastries and cooked foods. Best meal I had that trip. Means you are set for your day at the park as well tbh and don't have to come away to eat.

We went to inventions for the first time this for dinner and it was very good.
It is located in the pink Disneyland hotel and basically it’s a very big buffet - but all good quality and and range including seafood.

If you eat slowly you see a huge number of characters - traditional ones but also hook, smee, chip and dale etc.

It’s not cheap but nothing is now it seems. Overall though, it saved us queuing for characters in the park and felt ok value

Inventions is the same price as Cafe Mickey and is a better experience. It’s a buffet with lots of choice in the lovely surroundings of the Disneyland Hotel.

A cheaper option is the character breakfast which is in the Plaza Gardens Restaurant at around €35pp.
