Travel Day - Five Have Fun In Florida (& The Bahamas)
Our day together began at 8 where we headed down for breakfast which was okay. I’m not a breakfast eater but had woken early with a migraine and taken meds so thought I would add some yoghurt to these!
We headed back over to south terminal at 9 ish, I had checked in online and had boarding passes on phone so was pretty quick at bag drop! One of our cases was over but was painless to do a quick transfer of a few bits to Bron’s - packing cubes are fab for instances like this! We were through security, I always set the scanner off despite renoving belt, bangle etc! It was showing up as my knee, yesterday at Heathrow was my jaw! Think I may have been abducted by aliens and operated on. Bron picked up her holiday essentials of vodka and cigarettes so was good to go! We grabbed drinks for the plane and headed to the gate all so far so smooth! We boarded and took off a little late. We were served lunch about an hour and a half in. The vegetarian meal was pasta and fruit salad and okay. Mona had a kids meal which looked like chicken shapes and mashed potatoes which she hates so got her dad to order the chicken curry which she then swapped back. Plane selfie! I watched four films for the first time ever on a flight I usually barely watch one! These were if you’re interested A Quiet Place - I think thats what it’s called, I Tonya, Tully & Lady Bird - made me cry! All good and all recommended! We were served afternoon tea, vegetarian option was a cheese salad sandwich and a fruit bag. The flight, if I’m honest felt fairly painless think the 4 films helped! We landed to a full immigration hall which took approximately an hour to get through. Bags already off the belt rounded up and collected by Mona! And off to the garage to collect the car , Avis preferred after last summers 2 hour wait at the counter. We arrived at Universal’s Hard Rock Hotel and to keep going, I was seriously flagging headed into the studios. We bought annual passes last October when we visited so was our first visit with these so a challenge at the turnstiles as had to be ID checked. Bron and Bay have bought 14 day passes. We rode Jimmy Fallon, new for the big kids. And then took a stroll out to grab a Panda Express dinner. Walk back to the hotel. |
