Extending a Disney stay?
If I book, say, 7 nights at a moderate resort and get the current offers (QSDP, $100 gift card etc) but then wish to extend our stay by, say, 3 nights - will the dining plan be extended to cover the whole stay?
What about if there was no further availability at our booked resort and we opted to spend those extra days at a different resort? Would that still be classed as a 10 night stay or would that be treated as a 7 night and 3 night booking (and thus not get the QSDP on the 3 nights)? Finally what would happen if we wanted to spend the extra 3 nights at a budget resort (due to lack of availability at our booked resort)- that obviously has a different dining offer? Thanks

In the event you can extend your existing booking from 7 to 10 nights at the same resort you’d get free dining for those additional nights.
The other two scenarios you wouldn’t. You can’t do a split stay with free dining unless you stay 5 nights and buy additional park tickets. Disney don’t accommodate split stays with free dining for some reason. |

Your dining plan will only be extended if you stay at your original resort. You won't get it at any second resort regardless of the level of the resort. The only way to get it at 2 resorts is to spend at least 5 nights at each resort and buy a set of tickets for both resorts, which completely cancels out the benefit of free dining

Thanks everyone. Well if we need extra nights and they aren't available at our booked resort then we'll just have to spend the nights off-site.
If there is availability in our original resort does it make any difference at which end of our booking we add the extra nights? i.e does it make any difference whether we tag them on to the beginning of our booking or the end? If we tag them on to the beginning will our park tickets start operating the first day we check in still or will it be from the start of our original booking? Thanks

No it makes no difference. It just becomes a longer stay. If you book another resort however it does matter as you wouldn’t be able to collect your Disney tickets until your free dining stay.

Just to be sure.
The new earlier start date will have to fall into the original FD offer dates.
