Mobile Yesterday at Tampa

Arrived yesterday at 2pm. Can’t believe how Tampa has changed! Certainly not as easy as it used to be. Finally found car rental. Had done skip the counter at home so went straight to garage. Had a Choice of about 10 mini vans to choose from. All had quite high mileage so one of the workers brought us a Dodge out with just over 6000 miles on so we took that. At the exit the person asked to see a credit card in my husbands name, never happened before. Luckily I brought one with me. There’s a handy little place just as you pull out where you can pull in and sort your sat nav out before you leave.

I agree about the changes, we flew into Tampa in March and found the whole process of 2 monorails took twice as long and it was all a bit chaotic as the changes were so new and I think it was the regular American travellers who were struggling the most, DH said I wonder how long before they offer a meet and greet service for picking up the car. We have decided to go back to MCO for our next trip.

We flew in on Sunday and didn’t find it too bad really. Immigration was a bit packed and so it took about an hour to get through that but as we knew about the car hire garage being a monorail ride away we were looking out for the signs and got there fine. The longest bit was waiting for DH to choose a car 😐

The staff there were all really friendly too. I have been shouted at at MCO for putting a foot over a line at immigration so I appreciated that.
