My first post on here!
Hello!
Thought I’d pop over here with a few questions! We are looking to do a Disney cruise in a few years for our 20th wedding anniversary & just want to now how you even go about booking? Do you book direct with DCL like you would book with the WDTC for WDW? I saw the perfect route for me on a Disney blog that sails from New York & sails to Bermuda but would love to go to castaway cay too! Sorry I’m a complete novice as we’ve never contemplated a DC before so know nothing about routes etc. Would we book flights separately or can it all be done as a complete package. Thanks😊

You have a few options.
You can book and pay in dollars with Disney directly in the US directly yourself or with a US travel agent like the one above. You would need to book your flights yourselves, but if you use a US TA they can also source hotels transfers etc. Or you can book with Disney in the UK directly pay in Stirling or book with a UK TA. Again either separately or package together. If you don’t feel very confident about it I would recommend travel on a dream, the ladies there are always checking in with you to see if you need any help with anything. I have a cruise booked with Tracy.

I booked direct with Disney Cruise Line, with the price fixed in £.
I did consider booking through TOAD, a U.S. travel agency, but with the £ taking a dive I would rather fix the price so I know exactly what it will cost. Incidentally I’m on a cruise from New York to Bermuda in a few weeks but I’m sailing with NCL.

Welcome to the cruise forum and welcome to the addictive world of cruising!
We book with Travel on a Dream, but if you want the same price from today to the day you sail, book direct so you're not relying on the exchange rate. Joa

I always book with Dreams Unlimited. I agree with the others, though,t hat the exchange rate is so changeable, it might make more sense to lock in the price up front, by booking with DCL direct. The good news is that, unlike WDTC, the deposit is fully refundable until your Paid in Full date (with a few exceptions, like concierge). So you could book and pay a deposit, then if you change your mind or want to move it to a different cruise, that's fine.

I'm guessing you didn't speak to any of the agents the regulars use! UK TAs tend to be in the dark somewhat with DCL, not their fault, it's just not a massive market for them yet.
