Mobile Can someone explain ride swap etc...

I'm struggling making fp choices as we care a party of 6 2a and 4c. 2a and 3c all love rides but ds will only ride Peter pan small world etc

So for example tot is a must for us all barr him but I've only bothered fp for 4... because I will have to go on something else with him and queue normal route with the kids who will no doubt want to ride again and oh will go on something else with ds... just feels a lot of back and forth

Is there another way round this ... what is ride swap? X

Hope this makes sense lol

How old are your children? The official rules say anyone can use rider switch but in practice it's only really used for kids that are too short to ride. You could challenge it though!

For tot if he is tall enough you can take him with you in the queue and you can swap out at the lifts
We did this in 2016, we asked for a child swap but the cm said as our son was tall enough we could just take him in with us. He was only 3 at the time
As it turns out he actually did actually end up riding it!

He's 8 but very tall so I think he would be tall enough to ride...the others are older 10.11.12 x

Sorry off tangent but did he like it? I'm wondering about taking my LO in May as she will be tall enough but not quite 4!

I think you'll struggle to get RS TBH. Here's the official rules:
disneyworld.disney.go/en.../rider-switch/

You'll note it doesn't say is too short or too young but like I say in practice they take one look at your baby and do RS, they even ask to see the child. It's a bit of a grey area when I child meets the height restriction but just doesn't want to ride.

He was fine during the ride and afterwards we asked him if he liked it
DS: Yes
Me: Would you like to go on again
DS: NO!

He then didn’t trust us with any rides the rest of the holiday no matter how small, even the Hogwarts Express which he had riden before😳
We had no intention of him going on and we asked him literally 30 times if he was sure he wanted to ride
#Badparent
I would try and show her the ride video before hand and try to explain what it will be like and leave the decision to her. Our DS was 3.4yrs at the time. He has already said he doesn’t want to ride it in April

Haha aw bless him! That's the thing though you know my daughter is OBSESSED with Halloween and all things dark and spooky - don't ask - and so she loved haunted mansion etc. So I'm thinking she will like the theme but I'm just not sure about the drop! We took her on 7DMT last year and she hated it but then wanted to go again, hated it even more the second time lol. So I know she will say she wants to but I don't want to traumatise her! 😂
