OP, you know that one night at RPR gets you two days of Express Passes at Universal? Check in at 6.00am - 7.00am, leave your bags at Bag drop, claim passes (RPR will text you when room is ready).
You also get two days of 1 hr early admission to the Parks. Parks will be som much quieter so Express will let you do as much as you can handle and even better, if you want, head back to the Hotel for some Pool time if you wanted, before heading back into the Parks or CityWalk.

I didn't read in detail but on your horror nights evening I'd go in to US as opposed to IoA before the event as you'll get a jump start on the first house as you won't get kicked out of the park or have to queue to get in.
