Hotel for Universal Stay
Hi,
Flying in on 20th June next year but our villa is not available until 22nd. So thinking start the holiday at Universal. There's five adults including daughters boyfriend, so needing 2 hotel rooms for each night. Think we will book RPR for 21st for 5 to get us all the express passes and book Aventura for daughter and boyfriend so they have their own space. So query where to stay the night of the 20th. Are there any recommended cheaper hotels near to Universal that either shuttle us to Universal on the morning of the 21st or that we could walk from with cases? Or would we be better just booking 2 rooms at the cheaper Universal hotel, probably Aventura again?

We are staying in a villa and did Portafino Bay for one night to get past passes and early entry as it was a cheaper option than just fast passes. I liked it but it huge.
So loved the whole Bay Area and I would certainly stay again. It was all very smooth and a vey pleasant stay. |

We stayed at the Best Western Nearest Universal which is next to the Doubletree hotel, and it was an easy walk to Universal each day. Admittedly it was over a busy 6 lane road, though it did have a pedestrian crossing button and plenty of time to cross, and by the looks of things I think they're building a pedestrian bridge over the road. We managed this in a wheelchair and a mobility scooter that was running out of juice!
We stayed there 5 nights then moved to RPR for 1 night for the express passes. |

Thanks for the replies and slight change of plan as after checking car hire and cost of shuttle from airport to hotel, decided to just collect car from airport on the 20th so hotel shuttle / walk to universal will not be necessary.
So we have booked Drury inn which is 5 mins in the car to universal and gives us free breakfast, then will book RPR & Aventura for the 21st. Just holding back on that booking though as prices are quite high, so monitoring them for a bit. Anyone got any good prices and from where?
