Deciding against Magical Express - Taxi/PreBook
Hi.
Fingers crossed that our flight isn’t delayed, we land at 14.05 and what we’d prefer to do is just jump straight into a taxi. We aren’t hiring a car this trip, and I can’t be bothered hanging around for the ME when we just want to get to resort, freshen up and go out to enjoy the rest of the evening. Has anyone got experience of costs and what the best way to do this is? Could prebook a car or just get the first available taxi. Any need to knows? Thanks Edited at 02:01 AM. |

I’ve had a Towncar a couple of times. I used Tiffany Towncar. Very easy to book on line (you need to let them know you’ve arrived). They also do a half hour supermarket stop included in the price if you need one. Very good service we’ve booked this four times over the years. Cheaper would be to call an Uber when you get outside the airport. Not sure where you’d need to stand but this is now allowed by the airport. We used 20 off Uber’s last trip and our longest wait was 3 minutes. I’ve used DME 3 times. We’ve sat and waited over half and hour once on the bus and also been off as fast as finding our Towncar so it may or may not hold you up. They tend to stop at 3 hotels and you could be any of those stops.

We have never even considered getting the ME, it is the last thing I would want to do after a long flight. We don’t hire cars either, just get a taxi at the airport. No I don’t think there are any need to knows, it could not be more straight forward.
Cost about $60 I think, although DH always pays taxi. I have just looked at Mears and they would charge $100 for pre booking, definitely not paid that much for taxi at airport. |

Never hung around for an ME either. It’s so simple, straight to them, straaight on, no more worries.
We only ever get a taxi straight to universal and that’s arounf $50

I thought the ME was great - basically the same as getting a taxi, but free!

The only time I booked a town car at MCO was years ago . It was whoeverwas Dibb flavour of the month and as I was arriving at midnight just me and the five year old it seemed like a great idea. They didn't show up and the contact number wasn't working. As it was prepaid I was beyond angry. ( not helped by an indirect flight with two drunk 60 somethings sitting behind us on the flight dropping F bombs all the way across the Atlantic)
They'd booked it for the day after despite having the right info. I've not used a town car service at MCO since . I'm using Magical Express this year but otherwise I'll use Uber rather than pay more for a taxi. |
