I’m away with my parents again in a few months - I’m 38!
I’ve been away without them, but we have so much in common, and so many identical places on our bucket lists, it kind of wouldn’t feel right doing it without each other. I’m currently single, nothing would really change if I met someone. Family is hugely important to me. My younger brother, his wife and their 2 kids also go everywhere with us, although I’ve not yet been on holiday with them, my parents have. In fact, they went away together before the wedding and kids. We all do our own thing too, but now we’re grown, we all really are the best of friends. I’m actually going to my parents shortly to make plans for our upcoming trip! Enjoy every second of it!

Dd is 21 in 2 weeks she still wants to come with us. Well it's a bit 50/50 really. Thing is she LOVES Florida, she is diabetic and doesn't really drink and couldn't think of anything worse than the 18-30 Ibiza/Magaluf style holidays, but obviously that's the kind of holiday her friends would want to do if they could save to go away (that's another drawback). So, she comes with us, part of her says she feels a saddo coming away with me and her dad, but on the other hand, as before the alternative isn't appealing to her. He ideal is meeting either a friend who shares her love of Disney (and can save up) OR a boyfriend who she can go with.
DS is 23 and he couldn't think of anything worse than coming with us, his ideal holiday IS the Magaluf/Ibiza drinking hols. I hope one day they do want to come with us with their families/partners. |

I’m 35 and never stopped going on holiday with my parents! I didn’t realise it was an option 😂 I’ve often suggested they holiday without me but I’m the chief organiser, navigator and brains behind it all and they say they’d rather not go than go without me 😂.

Our lot still come with us sometimes, but we mix it up. So far this year... the two boys 25 and 31 came to Wales with us for a few days DH and I have been to Lisbon on our own and are due to go on a weeks cruise in June. In July both the boys and our daughter will join us on another UK trip, and in September I'm taking our daughter to Porto as a 30th birthday present.
Next year I'm making tentative plans for another West Coast trip, the boys may join us if funds and works holiday allowance fit. Daughter is saving for a house with her fiance so not planning any big holidays.

My ‘kidults’ would be outraged if we went to US without them ... Ds 21 and Dd 19 ... and yes we pay for them even though theyre working ... and will continue to do so unless we can’t afford it...
Looking forward to next year, I mentioned to my ds would he be coming/interested and his response was ‘why wouldn’t I?’... Just love having them with me ... although I will draw the line at having to pay for any partners/friends they may want to bring ... My friend often mentions us going away and can’t quite believe they still come ... it’s our 25th wedding anniversary next year and she keeps hinting that maybe dh and I should be going alone ... I’ve since said ( very firmly) that we enjoy their company and value time with them ... don’t you with yours ? It seems to have worked ... the only sticking point is the amount of holidays that they have to use |
