Spirit of the Swamp Advice

Hi there,

I'm considering booking a spirit of the swamp airboat tour based on the positive reviews on this site.

Is there a best time to do this trip, am or pm? Or does it not really matter?

Any other tips or things to consider would be great. I can see they do an hour, 1.5hrs and 2 hours trip. I was thinking of going for the 1.5 hours.

We will have a hire car so able to get there okay.

Thanks

Love sots.
We like to do the first trip out in the morning..
Captain Harold has so much info, plus always seems to find everything you want to see!

We are another who would opt for first trip of the day, wildlife more active.

Plus in my experience capn Harold likes his time on the water and giving a good service so much that he sometimes runs on over the paid for time. Great if you are out on the water not so great perhaps if you are standing at the launch and wondering where the heck he is !

Just my experience though - others may have found differently.

We went in the morning, around 10 IIRC, we were advised to go early before it got too hot.
We'll be booking for next year soon

We love SOTS and would always recommend AM, especially if your travelling at a time of year that is prone to PM storms. Book early in the vacation as well, just in case you need to rearrange due to weather etc.

I would take any trip where Captain Harold is your guide. We have had other Captains (at SOTS) that aren’t half as good as Harold.

We did the 9.00am ride -it meant we had the rest of the day to do something else! Best trip we did in Orlando!

Would disagree, I’ve been with both Captain Harold and Captain Chris and I must say they were both absolutely brilliant.
