How to celebrate a 50th birthday?

I’m going to be 50 in a month’s time Can’t really say I’m looking forward to it though.
Anyway, family want to celebrate it. I don’t want a party as we’re only a small family with a small handful of friends. Looking for ideas if any of you lovely Dibbers have any. Something a bit different, I suppose.
TIA.

I have the same dilemma for my 50th in November! How about a meal at somewhere a bit posher than you’d normally go to? I’m planning a spa weekend with DH and then either a couple of days in Europe or London with DH and the children

It’s my 50th on Thursday. Unfortunately I’m working that day so we going out on Friday for a family meal. I wouldn’t thank you for a party either. Remember 50 is the new 40 so enjoy 🤣 x

Do you have to do just one thing? Maybe have a nice meal, a theatre trip, spa trip, do something you’ve always wanted to do? Maybe a lot of things you’d like to do would make it feel more special?

It’s mine next December. I’m having an extra special holiday in May but for my actual birthday I think we are all going to go to a Pantomime then dinner. Should be fun.

For mine I'm thinking of a tour round the local old people's homes to start choosing which one I want the kids to put me in when I'm older

I did dinner at a really nice restaurant with just close family on the day, the next evening We booked a table for dinner at the local dog track with extended family and the following day we stayed at Wolf Lodge at Port Lympne Zoo, which was absolutely brilliant

I had family and friends round my house on my 50th but only because there was a rugby match on. I don’t even like rugby.
A few years later I wish I made more of an effort.

An afternoon tea somewhere or a group trip to a zoo or theme park? I plan to be away for mine on a cruise to Alaska 🚢🚢🚢

Happy Birthday 🥳
