i am having real problems getting a connection on my vodafone mobile while here. A couple of times when out and about it has connected to T-Mobile. My wife and kids (all vodafone) have no problems and are all connected to AT&T all the time.

Despite numerous contacts with vodafone still not resolved.

The thing to remember is that a SIM is only going to be as good as the network it’s currently running on (be that on net or off net). We used out 3 data SIM in Florida last year and other than losing connection inside some buildings (due to the construction) we had no issues at all.

We even ditched our gps and used google maps in the hire car and it didn’t let us down once.

If possible, the op should really contact 3 and ask them to have a look in to it. It’s all very well and good slamming the provider, but if they haven’t been given the opportunity to fix a potential issue...

For the record, I don’t work for 3 but I do work for a local telco so can see both sides of the coin.

I've been with 3 for quite a few years now and I always use my phone in Orlando it's never had any problems. I think Animal Kingdom was the weakest signal for me when I was there.

We have used three multiple times in the US with few problems but sometimes it gets the wrong settings and you have to manually change them, it shows the correct ones on the Three website.

Can you not switch to manually search for network and select AT&T on your phone?

If I remember rightly in the states with your 3 sim you only get 3G which will feel really slow if you're used to 4G in the UK.

It used to be like that but in many places you noe get 4G incl Florida (but patches might have less).
