Thanks for the info.

For years people have been saying that Disney doesn't have a standard price for the UK tickets and either they bridge to an equivalent US ticket price or somehow determine the price the vendor paid for that individual ticket. That might have been the case in the past, but not any more it seems.

Also, $580 for the 2019 14-day Ultimate ticket! That'd about £470 at the current exchange rate. That's a great price when it comes to upgrading - it should be almost $100 less.

So now I'm wondering if I didn't take off the $100 discount for the renewal so it might have been $480. I need to check the receipt again! - will try to tonight.

So yes I had read the wrong price it was $489.05 for 14 day ultimate. I’ve updated my original post to reflect making it around £395 value which I believe is still more than I paid in April 2018 when I booked package

Can you confirm where you did your upgrade? just were doing this on our next trip for 1 ticket, to take advantage of the free parking and 20% off "select" food and merchandise - also I do like some of the AP exclusive merch!

So I went to the prepark booth just outside the gate to Magic Kingdom on the right (after you get from Transportation and Ticket Centre to the main entrance).

All I would say is that price wise it was still $535 I think for the upgrade but this was with a discount for it being an annual pass renewal (around $100). I would make sure you are going to get the $600 odd that it would cost out of those things. In previous years upgrade prices have been a lot cheaper and its seemed more economical for the discounts and parking. We always check how often we are likely to go (estimate max 10 days) so $250 parking and then work out at 20% discount (some things are more some have no discount) so would need to speand $2000 more to cover the costs. When we looked at it this wasn't going to be viable for this year as we spent less than this last year on food and merchandise as staying off site. As it was I then booked a solo trip and decided that with the extra ticket it actually made sense as only around $100 more than 2 x 14 days so didn't mind so much as then get free parking etc. Just something I'd think about if this is your plan.

Oh and I agree some of the passholder merchandise is lovely!

Does anyone know what they value the 21 day ultimates at for upgrade purposes, then? We're trying to work out if it'll be worth upgrading one of ours next year.

Back in April 2018, the cost of a 2019 14-day ticket was £419 (see here). With a package deal, I suspect the usual "14 days for the price of 7" offer applied in which case the tickets might have cost £399?

Still, I'd guess Disney are using the current price rather than the historic price for the upgrade.

It seems Disney are using the current price of the tickets converted into dollars based on the above discussion.

Therefore, I'd guess they'd value the 2019 21-day Ultimates at about $500 and the 2020 21-day Ultimates at about $580 - at the moment anyway.

So to upgrade a 2020 21-day ticket to a Platinum Plus annual pass will cost around $700 - assuming the annual passes stay at the same price as they are now.

Yeah I think it might be the current price but I did have the 14 day for 7 offer so sounds about right. I also felt its probably the current price they were using on their system rather than the price paid.

Just a heads up for any one planning on upgrading UK ultimates to APs, make sure that Disney has selected the right ticket in their system on they give you the upgrade costs. When they scan your ticket not all come up as the 14 or 21 day Ultimate tickets.
