How to cash in money savings pots!

Daft question, I know, but I grudge giving a % to those coin machine things at the supermarketas and I think that banks will give me the cold shoulder when I empty my money pot later .

I know a lot of you folks save you're spare change, £2 coins etc. So question is : Where is the best/ most welcome place to change them in to notes?

I got a load of the plastic money bags from the bank, bagged up the coins myself and then took them in. :-)

Some NatWest branches have those coin machines that they have in supermarkets but they do not take a commission and they go straight into your bank account.

just get the money bags from your own bank, bag up the change and then pay them in into your account via a pay in slip from your cheque book. They just weigh the bags not count it all so its very quick and there's no limit. I know my bank will only accept it if you have an account with them.

I have a HSBC account and my bank (Nottingham City Centre) has one of those machines but without taking the commision.

Before that I would take bags in - but they had to be exact. They have a limit on normal accounts of 5 bags a day but not on childrens accounts so I used to put them into DS's account.

Now then, which day do we get deals with security ?

Saying that, by the time I've fed the car parking machine there won't be much left.
