A recent Dis DVC Vlog summed it up really, the ONLY thing that DVC/D have to provide is a yearly allocation of points at your HR everything else could be classed as a perk eg. Current restriction on borrowing, highly likely that it will revert back to normal but they don't have to! Not once in 12 years have we used AP discount, purchase/food discount isn't everywhere so would take ages to any sort of money back. I'll be very honest & say that we got a bargain at $67.50/point but also having had 12 years of DVC I'd value it about $110-$120, any more than that I'd feel ripped off! The issue is that Disney "over price" their Deluxe resorts, no way are any of the ones I've stayed at worth +$450/night, this then makes DVC look like a bargain !
As I've said in the past, we love our DVC but be sure that you realise how much you are committing too post purchase eg Flights,passes, food & spending money- it's scary when you start adding up how much you need to be saving every month plus your annual dues!
