Planes, Trains and Automobiles (Smoky mountains - Williamsburg - Washington DC - New York) Day 12

Day 12 - Tuesday 11th April 2017

We woke at 7.30 and went down for the usual hotel breakfast of cereal, bagels and waffles. We made our way back to the visitor centre to park and as it was early there were some spaces in the shade, it was going to be a hot day today!

There was a morning welcome in the market place so this was our first stop.

We then spent the next couple of hours wandering around. We decided against buying the ticket here as we would not have had enough time to make good use of it. There is so much to see and do and ticket prices weren't cheap. We got a lovely feel for the place and got to see a lot for free.

There was a reenactment taking place

We took a break at the same coffee stop as yesterday for an iced coffee and then went to the peanut shop to sample their amazing varieties of peanuts!

We made our way out of the sunshine and back to the hotel via an Au Bon Pain refill. Georgia wanted to swim so we spent the late afternoon in the pool which was empty this time. Dinner was Ruby Tuesdays which was our favourite meal of the trip. I loved the options on the salad bar but we should have split a main as overall it was too much food! $55 bill including tip and tax.

We made a quick stop at Bath and Bodyworks after to buy my goodies and lucked out that the hand soaps were on offer that day at $3 (instead of the usual $6). I spent about $30 on bits here.
