Socket advice
Just back from trip that included a Carnival cruise. Obviously their sockets are American point, but they also had European point too. I found the latter far better for my hairdryer. With the American socket I could have blown my hair quicker with my own steam! but with the European one- it worked like normal

It's not the plug, it's the power output that matters. If your hairdryer was operating on European voltage (220-240 volts), it would run very slowly - dangerously so - if it was plugged into an American socket, which has an output of only 110 volts. If you plugged it into the European socket, which has a 220-240 volt output, it would be perfectly and safely matched, so it would run much faster.
Some hairdryers and other small electrical items have a switch for both US or European voltages. |
