Where do I start? - April 2019 Cruise
For our honeymoon my wife and I did a split stay of a 7 night Western Carribbean cruise and a week in Orlando. We always said we would like to do an Eastern Carribbean cruise and I promised her I would take her on our 10th Wedding Anniversary (if we made it that far )
I want to plan a 10th Wedding Anniversary cruise for April 2019 and I have no idea where to start. We did Royal Carribbean last time but I'm open to any cruise line including Disney. Where do I find the best deals or search companies? Is there a Skyscanner for the sea? I must google Seascanner and see if that's a thing I don't have a budget as such and only requirement is a balcony room. I'll pay whatever is necessary to have a great time. We have a 6 year old (will be 8 at time of cruise) and would like to take him but my parents have also said they would take him to WDW while we did the cruise. They own a villa near Championsgate so we can stay there before and after. Obviously if we did a Disney cruise we would want him with us. Any help and advice is much appreciated.

I'm loving seascanner ... you should patent that now!
So, I can only help with DCL and their cruises for April 2019 will be released around October this year. I can tell you that DCL are amazing, for adults, for families and for children. You are paying for the brand name and the customer service which wins award left right and centre. Nothing is too much trouble for DCL crew, whether it's the serving team that rotate with you to each restaurant to the counsellors within the youth activities area. It would be the Disney Fantasy for an eastern or western Caribbean and they are 7 nights, starting on Saturdays and alternating all year round basically. Have a look at prices for April 2018 for a clue on how much, but bear in mind, April is Spring Break so try to avoid that! The price will also show as higher now as they have announced some of the April cruises as Star Wars ones .. that makes more people book as they have all of the SW characters on board. Normal prices for April (not Spring Break) are around £3-5k for 3 depending on room choice. We just have inside rooms as we use the room so little. As for booking ... either book direct or through a US travel agent, don't use a UK agent .. only use the 2 options I've given if you want the best deals. Have a read of the sticky thread at the top for more info on DCL, but feel free to ask more if you need to. Joa

Thanks Bats. I'll starting reading that thread now and check the Disney website for 2018 prices. That's as good a start as any.

Register with Vacationstogo.com, they have a good overview of various itineraries (when released by the cruise line).
Once you see something you fancy, shop around different UK agents and get a price from the cruise line itself. Be aware that different cruise lines have different policies regarding allowing UK residents to book with a US ta. We're doing two Princess cruises back to back next January out of Fort Lauderdale - we booked with Princess direct as they were giving a few sweeteners (on board credit) that ta's weren't. |

Don't book DCL with a UK agent .. EVER!
Other cruise lines, definitely, but never for DCL. DCL do not offer discounted cruises via any agent, plus, if you book via a UK TA, your T&Cs will be appalling.

Is there a ranking of cruise lines and/or ships anywhere? There seems like a lot of choice.

Honestly depends on what you are after. Cruise Critic has loads of different categories and rankings for each.
